Free Student Fares Program Extended Through December 2019
The CARTA Board of Directors voted on Aug. 22, 2019, to extend Free Student Fares program through December.
“We’ve seen great utilization and received incredible feedback on the program,” said CARTA Board of Directors Chairman Mike Seekings. “It makes a lot of sense to keep the program going into the new school year.” (more…)
BCDCOG Receives $1.4 Million In Volkswagen Settlement Funds
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (July 30, 2019) – The Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments (BCDCOG) today received nearly $1.4 million from South Carolinas share of the Volkswagen Settlement Fund that will be used to purchase two all-electric buses and a pair of charging stations.

THE LATEST INSTALLMENT OF THE SYSTEMS’ SENIOR SERIES
Individuals over the age of 55 will be able to access Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) and TriCounty Link services for free on Wednesday, May 29,2019, which is also National Senior Health and Fitness Day. The perk is part of both systems’ quarterly Senior Series, which encourages seniors to ride transit free of charge. (more…)
