39th Annual Cooper River Bridge Run

PACKET PICK UP 03/31/16 and 04/01/16 –NASH Shuttles – Bridge runners can pick up their free pass at the NASH Express 4 bus stop located at the Downtown Visitor Center from volunteers located near sign post “B” at the Visitor Center bus shed.  NASH Express 4 will operate every 30 minutes from 11am – 8pm on Thursday 03/31/16 and 8am-8pm on Friday 04/01/16, but expect possible delays due to anticipated heavy traffic volumes.  Please click NASH 4 for regular schedule times. This route will provide service to the N. Charleston area and the performing arts center where the Bridge Run Expo will take place and packets are picked up.

 

 

 

Bridge Run Detours – On Saturday, April 2, 2016 the 39th annual Cooper River Bridge Run will take place spanning downtown Charleston & portions of Mt. Pleasant. 

2016 COOPER RIVER BRIDGE RUN DETOURS 

Route Turn by Turn Detours

Detours will take place starting around or before 7am and will continue until the completion of the race and roads are re-opened

*All DASH routes will not operate until after the race is completed

*The last Route 40 bus to cross the Ravenel Bridge will be at 6:58am and will resume after the race is completed and roads re-opened

Route 4 NASH Express:

  • From I-26, take exit 219 B (East Bay/Morrison Drive)
  • Make a left onto Mt. Pleasant Street
  • Make a right on Meeting Street
  • Make a right on Brigade Street
  • Make a right on King Street
  • Make a left on Mt. Pleasant Street, back to I-26; resume normal route

Route 10 and Route 11 Detour:

  • Traveling southbound to downtown on Meeting Street, make a right onto Mt. Pleasant Street
  • Make a left onto King Street
  • Make a right onto Spring Street
  • Make a left onto St. Phillip Street
  • Make a left onto Cannon Street
  • Make a left onto King Street
  • Make a right onto Mt. Pleasant Street,
  • Make a left onto Meeting Street; resume normal route

Route 30:

  • From Cannon Street, make a right on St. Philip Street
  • Right on Beaufain Street
  • Right on Coming Street
  • Right on Calhoun Street
  • Right on St. Philip Street
  • Right on Cannon Street
  • Left on King Street
  • Left on Spring Street

Route 20:

  • Leaving Congress Street, make a right on King Street
  • Right on Spring Street
  • Right on Beaufain Street
  • Right on Coming Street
  • Right on Calhoun Street
  • Left on St. Phillip Street
  • Right on Cannon Street
  • Left on King Street; keep straight down King Street to Mt. Pleasant Street
  • Left on Mt. Pleasant Street

Route 21:

  • Leaving Canterbury House, make a right at the stop sign onto Archdale Street
  • From Archdale Street, make a right onto West Street
  • From West Street, make a right onto Logan Street
  • From Logan Street (yield to left) onto Coming Street
  • From Coming Street, make a left onto Wentworth Street; back on route

Route 31 & Route 301:

  • From Cannon Street, make a right on St. Philip
  • Right on Morris Street
  • Right on Coming Street
  • Right on Cannon Street
  • Left on King Street
  • Left on Spring Street

Route 40 Transporting from Mt.Pleasant to Charleston:

  • From I-526 to I-26 to downtown, make a left onto Mt. Pleasant Street
  • Make a right on King Street
  • Right on Spring Street
  • Left on St. Phillip Street
  • Left on Cannon Street
  • Left on King Street
  • Left on Mt. Pleasant Street ; back on ramp to I-26 to I-526 heading back to Mt. Pleasant
  • Exit on Exit 29 (Georgetown); make a left on Hwy 17
  • Right on IOP Connector
  • Right on Hungryneck Blvd
  • Right on Market Center Drive (stop- transfer point for Rt 41 and Rt 40)

 

Route 40 Remaining in Mt. Pleasant:

*Last bus will cross the bridge at 6:58am going into downtown Charleston

  • Heading Westbound from Frontage/Mathis Ferry Rd cross Hwy 17 onto Houston Northcutt
  • Turn right on Frontage Road
  • Make a right onto McGrath Darby Blvd
  • Right on Hwy 17
  • Left onto Frontage Road behind Hardees; back on route heading Eastbound

 

Route 41:

  • From New Parrish Way, make a right onto Coleman Blvd
  • Right onto Rifle Range Road
  • Go to 2nd round-a-bout (near Waterfall) and make a left on Venning Rd
  • Right on Hungryneck Blvd
  • Left on Market Center Dr
  • Left on Hwy 17; bear right onto Bowman Rd exit
  • Right onto Bowman Road
  • Left onto Frontage Road and keep straight to Mathis Ferry Rd (continue to Waterfront Park & turn around)
  • Left on Wingo Way
  • Right on Mathis Ferry Rd
  • Left on Frontage Road (near Hardees)
  • Right on Bowman Road
  • Right on Chuck Dawley
  • Left on Myrick Road
  • Right on Rifle Range Road

 

Route 102:

  • Traveling northbound to downtown on King Street, make a right onto Spring Street
  • Right onto St. Phillip Street
  • Right onto Line Street
  • Left onto King Street; back on route

 

Due to numerous events in the area, expect possible delays on routes due to increased traffic volumes throughout the area.
